THIS WEEK - INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
Our program this week will be Theresa Hardin, Executive Director of the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce. The Caldwell Chamber has earned quite a reputation for organizing international travel trips. Earlier this month, some of our members joined them on a trip to China. By all accounts, it was awesome! Next up: Poland.
BRICKS ON ORDER!
Last week officially placed our first order of 225 bricks with Fundraiser Sports! By the skin of our teeth we submitted it just in time to earn a 10% discount! That's worth about $800! We will continue to offer bricks for sale until probably mid-March. Any orders that come in now will be part of order #2. Now that we've met our fundraising goal, the next step is to fine tune our plan and execute what the city calls a "Donation Agreement" which will outline our responsibilities. In that agreement we will commit to maintaining flower beds, the little free library, bird boxes and any other little additions we can come up with.

We will make an official presentation to the Pioneer Chapter of the DAR (which, as I found out, numbers more than 100!) on Jan 6th. They should approve their partnership with us , thus making the monument available for sure.

Look for construction to begin in the spring!
IN NEED OF HOLIDAY MUSIC?
I was contacted by Ms. Casey Carroll who recently moved to Boise from Jackson Hole.  In Jackson, she’s been involved and played/sang at a number of Rotary events.  She inquired it we had any needs based on year-end parties/Christmas parties.  I told her to drop into a meeting and that we would spread the word if it fits into any of our Club members’ activities/events.
DICTIONARIES READY FOR DELIVERY
Roger reports that with the help of Scott and Dave the Rotary stickers have been affixed to all the dictionaries. They are now ready for delivery. Contact Roger if you can assist with a school.
ODDS 'N ENDS
Wow! We sold 468 doz roses! Top seller was John Schubin, with 79 dozen! (How does he do that?) Our net profit will be about $9200.......look for a chili cook-off in January.......Our contributions to The Rotary Foundation are going great! We're already over our club per capita goal of $100....did you know that only 9 of our members have not yet signed up for Rotary Direct?  (Is it you?).......  We'll be looking for volunteers to work at Gardens Aglow on December 19th..its going to be warm that night......... Rotary International wants to plant 1.2 million trees worldwide next year. That's one per member. Our Greenbelt project will include a bunch of trees..........congratulations to Dan McCown who completed his Red Badge...he's a now a full fledged Rotarian!.........Mary Reiman will be riding for polio, indoors, sometime in December. She's seeking pledges and wants us to ride with her! Our contributions go to Polio Plus and will be matched by the Gates Foundation..........Last week's Semilla Nueva event was a blast! They raised about $40k............watch for news of an upcoming building project - four 4x8 garden boxes for the Good Samaritan Home........and maybe a Christmas project for JemFriends...........
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
