New Member: Janet Hasson was inducted as our third new member for the year!
Paul Harris Award: This was cool. We enjoyed a remote Paul Harris Award for Dave Wong. The remote introduction was given by Barton Goldenberg, Past District 7620 Governor from Maryland/D.C. (who was talking to us from Sugarbush Mtn in Vermont!) and Mhari Goldstein from R.I. Dave, a friend of Jeff Larsen, was honored for his work at Rotary International in the area of Membership Enhancement Processes.
.
Bequest Society member: Mary Reiman was honored as our newest member to join the Rotary Foundation Bequest Society. That means she has made a commitment to the Foundation in her estate plans.
Tyson on Service: Tyron brought up to date on the Uganda water project. The process of a Rotary Global Grant is under way. Looks like the total project will be about $95,000 and should support five or six wells, serving about 2500 people in the village. Lots more to do to make this happen! In other news, look forward to building loafing sheds this spring. Nothing firm yet for our April and May Tuesday projects.
GBRF Update: Bret Vaterlaus, this years' Greater Boise Rotary Foundation President, reported that the Board is represented by members of all the Ada County clubs. The corpus is approaching $1 million which allowed $65,000 in grants to be made this year. Everyone should consider setting up an auto-pay contribution.
Membership update: Carrie reports that we have welcomed three new members this year, getting us closer to our goal of 5. The theme this year is "Each One Bring One". If you have a prospect, let Carrie know an she'll reach out. We lost a few members over the past two years due to Covid and our change of venue. Lets work to get them back!
