Recently I had the pleasure of attending the NW President-Elect Training in Seattle and while I have a ton of information from the meetings, I wanted to share my top take aways with you.
- What is your WHY? Knowing why you’re in Rotary provides a personal testimony on your involvement and should be the measure of your benefit as a member. If the club is not fulfilling your “why” then you need to be a catalyst for change. Also, prospective members want to hear your personal “why” story.
- Internal surveying of members concludes that the number one reason people join Rotary is the focus on service, second is to build better and stronger friendships.
- Innovate! There are no hard fast rules on how we are organized, run meetings, structure leadership. Rotary is a membership organization that has to adapt to survive which provides us the freedom to make our club our own.
I’m excited to forge a new path for our club while keeping the traditions we treasure.
