Recently I had the pleasure of attending the NW President-Elect Training in Seattle and while I have a ton of information from the meetings, I wanted to share my top take aways with you.
  1. What is your WHY? Knowing why you’re in Rotary provides a personal testimony on your involvement and should be the measure of your benefit as a member. If the club is not fulfilling your “why” then you need to be a catalyst for change. Also, prospective members want to hear your personal “why” story.
  2. Internal surveying of members concludes that the number one reason people join Rotary is the focus on service, second is to build better and stronger friendships.
  3. Innovate! There are no hard fast rules on how we are organized, run meetings, structure leadership. Rotary is a membership organization that has to adapt to survive which provides us the freedom to make our club our own.
I’m excited to forge a new path for our club while keeping the traditions we treasure.
