Last week more than a thousand Rotarians from around the world participated in a virtual call with former R.I. President Ian Riseley to promote Rotary's seventh, and newest, Area of Focus - Environmental Sustainability. The presentation was organized ESRAG (Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group). Riseley said, "attention to the environment is a cause whose time has come". Rotary should promote rectification of damage already done and prevention of future damage through advocacy and education. Environment projects will now be eligible for Rotary Global Grants and the Rotary Foundation has set up a new sub-account for environmental support.
