It was great last week to hear our friend John Lodal, of Boise Sunrise RC, give us an update on Semilla Nueva's progress in Guatemala. As you know, the mission has been to improve the nutrition of Guatemalans. They tried adding things to their diets, like Pidgeon Pea, but found that the only thing these folks will eat is CORN. So, they've made better corn! They just learned that they've been the recipient of a Rotary Foundation Global Grant for $220,000. You can keep up to date on the progress here.
