Join us in February as we partner with the 24 students in the Everyday Leadership Program at Garfield Elementary School as they complete one of their 2 service projects for the year:
What: Boise Greenbelt/Boise River Cleanup Service Project.
When: Tuesday, February 1st at 1:30pm to 3pm.
Where: Garfield Elementary at 1914 Broadway Avenue (at Boise Avenue intersection).
Details: After meeting the students at the school, we will walk with them along Leadville Avenue to the river. Then we start the cleanup. It generally consists of picking up trash along the greenbelt and the banks of the river. Gloves and sturdy shoes with good traction are recommended. If you have one, grabber tools come in handy. I will supply trash bags.
Weather? Forecast on Feb 1st is for 20 degrees so dress accordingly. There is snow in the forecast the night before (Jan 31st). If we have significant snow on the ground, we will announce via e-mail on Tuesday morning if we need to postpone.
Lunch? Because we are starting at 1:30pm and heading directly to the Boise River with the students, please eat lunch on your own prior to the Service Project.
RSVP? Always nice to get a headcount, but not necessary for this one. Contact Jeff Larsen at 208-870-7481 or jeffrey.k.larsen@gmail.com. Either way, please join in if you are able.
