Thank you, thank you for helping us host our 8 inbounds this year! We have a great group and they are lucky to have your clubs looking after them this year. It seems that once we start one cycle, it's already time start planning the NEXT cycle, and so here we go...
We are seeking a way to send and receive several Youth Exchange students in 2025-26 here in District 5400. I hope you can help us.
In case anyone in your club is unfamiliar with the program, here's a one-minute video that offers a glimpse into the program, and here is our district program website.
First, you can help us right now... we are seeking adventurous students (ages 14-1/2 to 17 right now) who might want to go on exchange in 2025. Can you reach out to your connections in local schools? We have some information sessions coming up later this month for them to learn more. I'm attaching a flyer to promote the program with a link to information sessions on our website.
Second, please consider hosting again in 2025-26. By welcoming an international student, your club can:
- Create an opportunity for an Idaho student to go on exchange (for every student we send outbound, we agree to host a student... so the more we host, the more we are able to send).
- Foster global understanding and peace
- Create lifelong international connections
- Inspire your local youth to become exchange students themselves
Attached is the District 5400 Club Participation Form with all the details you need to make an informed decision. The planning process starts now, and your commitment can open doors for both incoming and outgoing students.
We are also seeking experiential opportunities for our Inbounds; that is, would your club be willing to organize a field trip, service project, or a weekend event for our visiting students? Teach them about Idaho, and let them teach you a little bit about their home country.
If any of these sound interesting, let's talk - send me a note or book a time with me on my calendar. Thanks for reading and for considering your continued participation in this impactful program.
