Our speaker this week will be Kevin Lewis, Executive Director of Idaho Rivers United.

Idaho Rivers United is a conservation organization representing all who love the freedom, adventure and solitude of Idaho's rivers. Our mission is to protect and restore the rivers of Idaho.

Since our founding in 1990, IRU has become a powerful force for safeguarding Idaho's imperiled wild steelhead and salmon, protecting and enhancing stream flows and riparian areas, and defending and promoting the wild and scenic qualities of our wild rivers. Our supporters are river lovers who work together to keep Idaho's rivers healthy and flourishing for generations to come.

David Proctor has just released a book about the history of Boise and the Greenbelt called "Pathway of Dreams". He'll be talking about his book at Rediscovered Books on 8th Street next Thursday evening at 7:00PM. So, let's meet at Fork, right across the street, at 5:30 for dinner, or at least an adult beverage.  RSVP to Scott please.  The more we know about the history, the more fun we'll have with our project!

Many thanks to Gayle Knepper, our frequent visitor from Alaska Rotary. Once she found out we were participating in the Open World program she reached out to her contact at R.I. and got lots of information for us.

On or about October 7th, seven Russians from the Siberian city of Tomsk will arrive for an 8 day stay. They are all professionals in the fields of medicine/health care. Let Cornelia know if you want to be on the committee.
