BOARD MEETING WEDNESDAY 7:30
THIS WEEK - PROJECT AMIGO
Our program this week will be Jenna Sardang from Project Amigo.  This is a popular cause among many Rotary Clubs all over the country. Click here for more.

Project Amigo supports students from Colima, Mexico so that they can create their own educational opportunities and better their quality of life.

To do this, we remove the financial barriers to education through scholarships that include school fees, transportation, uniforms and school supplies, and a hot lunch. Our staff also provide tutoring and mentoring during Project Amigo Homework Club. Homework Clubs also provide us with a way of keeping in close touch with the students so we can identify problems before they become so severe that the student is forced to drop out of school.

We also provide opportunities for volunteers from other countries to do valuable humanitarian service that creates and fosters friendship and understanding across cultures. Volunteer Work Weeks based at our headquarters in the beautiful hillside village of Cofradía de Suchitlán allow volunteers from other countries to engage in humanitarian service and become both friends and sponsors of Mexican youth seeking the many advantages of education

BUY, SELL, GIFT GREENBELT BRICKS!!
Brick sales are off to a slow start! There are lots of people out there who have heard our story and are really excited about the project and keep saying they're going to buy a brick, but they haven't done it yet! If we don't keep after them, they'll forget and never get around to it. Among my own circle of friends, there are ten people who have committed to buy a brick - eventually. I'm about to get obnoxious! (By the way, there are many folks in our Rotary family who haven't stepped up yet, too! Are you one?)  And don't forget to hit up your business acquaintances. A tip - we don't care which size brick you sell - they all have the same margin. So, a business can participate for just 50 bucks. Pass out those brochures, keep a supply in your car!  Or direct people to our club website. Tell people there's a limited supply, orders must be in by May 31st!  And don't forget your social media contacts!  Click here to place your order!
SENIOR GAMES HOT DOGS
On Saturday, May 27th, we'll be preparing a picnic lunch of hot dogs and beans for the Idaho Senior Games at their 5k fun run/walk event. We'll be at the Boise Pavilion by the tennis courts. We'll start serving at about noon. Dave Wilson is our project chairman. He'll need volunteers to bring crock pots of beans, hot dogs, chips, drinks, etc. Contact Dave if you can help.
GREENBELT UPDATE - BOISE BIKE WEEK
The Annual BOISE BIKE WEEK starts next Saturday. There's a wide variety of bike related events going on all week. Click here for the complete schedule. Think about some of these as an opportunity to promote our bricks. For example, at the Flicks at 7:00PM on Tuesday, they're showing bike movies. Maybe we could get permission to hand out brochures? Or, on the 18th there's something called "Bike Talks" at the Village Co-Op. Maybe we could make a brief presentation?  Maybe you know who's organizing these events. The week ends with a bike parade.
