Our speaker this week will be Rosemary Reinhardt, Director of the Osher Life Long Learning Institute at Boise State.

 

"The Osher Institute is a membership-based lifelong learning program for adults 50 and better. We offer non-credit, college-level short courses, lectures, and other unique learning opportunities taught by university and community experts. The Institute is endowed by the Bernard Osher Foundation and operates through Boise State University’s Division of Extended Studies. There are 119 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes located in colleges and universities across the country. We are the only one in Idaho."

We are pleased to announce that our Rotary Park on the Greenbelt project has received a grant for $7,000 from the Greater Boise Rotary Foundation!  There are several other grant applications pending, some to other Rotary clubs. Our plan is to begin actively marketing our bricks on April 1st, but there's some groundwork to do. Look for a super fellowship event to kick that off!  In other news, we can now say that our project is "under construction"! Last week Dave Gott, Gene DeLaveaga from Eagle/Garden City Rotary and I went to JUMP and built our Little Free Library!  We'll even paint it Rotary blue!

Congratulations to Janice and Dave Fulkerson for being admitted to the exclusive Paul Harris Bequest Society. Marianne Barker, District Foundation Chair, officially welcomed them in last week.............. Scott Caufield from Centennial Rotary came by to let us know about their Winter Wine'd Up Event on Feb 24th.......Roger paid a hundred bucks to commemorate yet another grandchild.....  ......John Schubin is looking for folks interested in Junior Achievement......in conjunction with Valentine's Day last week, we sang Let Me Call You Sweetheart...its was AWFUL.......Thanks to James Patrick from the Morrison Center for his informative talk....we'll be presenting a check for $500 to the Borah High Horticulture program, for their help with our rose sale, on March 1st at 11:00 AM...see if you can be there.............mark you calendar, we'll be providing hot dogs and beans for the Senior Games fun run event on May 27th......remember that talk about a Rotary license plate? The Idaho Legislature is voting on it Tuesday!
