OMG!!
ROTARY 101

In these unusual times we find limited opportunities for in-person new member orientations, and they can be a great tool for new member engagement!

In an effort to support clubs across the district, we are bringing together membership and training resources and offering a district wide new member orientation.
The first one is being hosted on Tuesday August 18th starting at 4PM. This first session will be the ‘Rotary 101’ session and is open to any member of any club within the District.
The Zoom invitation is below.
You are encouraged to invite your newer members to join us on this call. The Session 1 materials are attached and can be shared with those invited.
Also, if your club wants to use the materials and do your own new member orientation sessions please feel free to do so. The sessions and materials were developed to help the clubs.
If you have any additional questions or input regarding this first session, please contact our District Trainer, Steve Gage, at sag5201@hotmail.com.
Thanks for your participation and leadership in Rotary!

SO MANY DIAPERS!
Last week we visited the Idaho Diaper Bank. This is a amazing operation, acting as a distribution center for diapers for agency partners all over the state. Our own    xxxxxx  is on their Board. We set up a workstation and re-packaged diapers into boxes of 150.

WE CAN ADOPT A SECTION OF GREENBELT
The Parks and Rec Volunteer office is back in business. We have been given the opportunity to "adopt" a section of the Greenbelt that runs through our park. To learn of the details and exactly what we'd be responsible for, we have a date to meet with Jerry Pugh and Kristin Gnojewski for a tour of that section on Monday, August 24th at 9:00 AM.  Please let me know if you can join us for walk in the park!
GEM FRIENDS AUCTION UPDATE
JEMfriends, a non-profit supporting youth aging out of foster care, with whom our club has had many successful partnerships, is holding their annual fundraiser and this year it will be virtual. It starts out on September 25 with an online auction and ends on October 8 with a live-streamed event. Our club has been invited to support it through auction donations and sponsorships:

Auction Items
If you know of any individuals or businesses who would be willing to donate an auction item to our event, let us know. We are seeking items valued between $25 to $1000 and are looking for a variety. Outdoors, wining and dining, coffee lovers, art and home decor, or something for the whole family! We are glad to be able to promote the individuals and businesses who donate. If this is a way you are able to support JEMfriends, please reach out to csprung@redbuilt.com.

If you can’t donate an entire item, but would like to contribute to a group basket from the club, you can use the Venmo app to send a donation directly to the club’s account. The account name is @Boise-Metro .
