Our speaker this week will be our own Carrie Westergard, the Executive Director of the Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau. There's a lot going on there!
Reminder that our club has been approved by Rotary International to participate in the Open World Program. We will be hosting 6 Russians (from Siberia!) for 8 days, October 7-15. Our responsibility will be housing, transportation and programs. Cornelia is setting things up. Start thinking about how you will help with this incredible opportunity.
Cornelia is now officially looking for host families. Based on the size of your house, you might take more than one. You can also volunteer for 4 days instead of the whole 8. Let Cornelia know if you'd be interested! This is going to be awesome!
As you may know, the District Public Image Committee is subjecting all our clubs to an "Internet Presence" report card. Its an effort to see how our clubs are doing, recognizing the importance of an internet presence for recruitment and retention. Our club has an awesome Website! Where we fail is that we don't have a Facebook page. FB is becoming more and more important. Would someone like to volunteer to be our FaceBook master? An effective FB page should have club-relevant posting twice a week and should capture posts from the District and Rotary International. There can be several club members who have authority to post. If you're interested, let me know!
The Ethics in Business luncheon will be held Thursday, April 14th at noon at the Hoff Building (where Boise downtown meets). This program is spearheaded by Boise downtown Rotary. Our own Roger Brazier has been honored in the past. We have submitted a nominee for the award. Its yet to be confirmed, but we may not have our Tuesday meeting that week. There is also an opportunity to buy an ad in the progam.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is an intensive leadership training program for young adults. District 5400 hosts incoming juniors through outgoing seniors in high school for a 4-day leadership camp at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho. Talented young people will attend seminars, workshops and participate in experiential exercises in the form of a ropes course throughout the camp.

We're thinking maybe an afternoon from 4-6 followed by dinner, or maybe dinner then 6-8. Still to be determined. Bring your books to our meeting over the next few weeks.
