This week we'll hear from Jason Hawkins, Director of a Nampa organization called "Rise Above America" that works with at-risk youth through flying airplanes!
"Our mission is to strengthen communities through inspiring disadvantaged young people to rise above their circumstances.
We will accomplish this through an aviation centered educational program that facilitates the development of personal qualities conducive to building socially responsible, productive citizens
Participants will have the unique experience of building a pre-fabricated "kit" airplane (a real airplane). After they have completed assembling the airplane, they will learn how to fly the airplane, being taught by qualified flight instructors while earning credit toward the completion of their pilot certificate."
