(DIMC) has saved thousands of animals’ lives. DIMC was created in 2012 by a doctor in Wyoming and a lawyer in Arizona. Peter Rork, MD and Judy Zimet, Esq. work with a supportive Board and dedicated volunteers to fly animals from areas of the United States where they are not wanted, to areas of the United States where they are in demand. There is no charge to the animal welfare organizations for whom DIMC flies…the planes fly on public donations alone. The organization is a 501c3 approved organization based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Reminder: our club has been approved to participated in Rotary International's "Open World" program. We will have the honor of hosting SIX Russians from October 7 to the 15th. Our responsibility will be to provide housing and a meaningful program of events and visits in our area. They are said to be interested in "innovation and entrepreneurship". Cornelia is heading up our Committee, please contact her if you are interested in serving on the Planning Committee or being a host family. This is exciting!!
Meet Lance Hatzenbeller, the newest member of our club! Lance grew up in Great Falls, MT. He earned a degree in Business Admin from Colorado Mesa University. He and his wife Rosanne and three children (12, 10 and 7) moved to Boise in 2016. After many years in the restaurant business, Lance is now a commercial loan officer for Idaho Central Credit Union. His hobbies are basketball (he's a tall guy, played college ball), coaching his own kids in their sports, golf, and just hanging out with his family. Welcome aboard, Lance, we're glad to have you!
Last Saturday we provided a hot dog picnic in Julia Davis Park for the first annual 5k/run/walk for the Idaho Senior Games. The Games themselves take place in August . This fun event is just to provide some fellowship for our Senior Athletes at another time of the year.
We served hot dogs and beans to about 50 people. We were prepared for many more than that, so there were leftovers. These will be delivered to the Food Bank.
Thanks to Dave Wilson (Chief Griller), Mary Reiman, Rick Holscher, Charles Weymouth, Allan Bosch and John Biggs.
