THIS WEEK - ATTRACTING BUSINESS TO IDAHO
This week we'll hear from Kallen Hayes and Susie Davidson who represent the Business Attraction Department of the Idaho Department of Commerce. We'll hear about successes and challenges and their creative ways to market what Idaho has to offer.          http://commerce.idaho.gov/
DON'T FORGET LUNCHEON TOMORROW
Luncheon Monday at Noon at the Riverside to celebrate the Rotary Grand Plaza Project!  Our club and many of it's members played a large role over many years - let's go cheer on our colleagues and the celebrate the project!  It's a well-deserved opportunity to reflect on a high-profile project that will be enjoyed by tens of thousands (if not well above that number) over the years.
TWO VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
There are two community volunteer programs for us to consider:

March 12th - United Way and Red Cross are participating in a national campaign to go door to door installing smoke detectors, or replacing batteries. Organizers are lining up teams to work the neighborhoods for a few hours that afternoon.

April 11-15 - United Way has been collecting books. They now have thousands that need to be cleaned and sorted. We're thinking maybe an afternoon from 4-6 followed by dinner, or maybe dinner then 6-8. Still to be determined.

(Note: our offer to cook hot dogs for a Senior Games event has been moved, again. This time to May 28th)
WE'LL THANK BORAH HIGH KIDS FOR THE ROSES!
The kids in the Biology Dept at Borah High School spent a lot of time putting together the roses that we sell.  Now its time to say Thank You and give their horticulture club a small donation ($300-400).  This will take 15 minutes.  A check presentation, a few photos – everyone is invited!  Check Presentation to Borah High School March 17th at 11:45am (Note new date)

ROTARY DIRECT ROCKS!
Thank you to all the Rotarians who have signed up for ROTARY DIRECT and/or contributed toward our Rotary Foundation Annual Fund at the beginning of February!  We are “this close” toward reaching our goal and continuing our tradition of being an Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) Club!  As a reminder, for the few of you not yet signed up for Rotary Direct, if you sign up by the end of February, Buck will contribute $20 to the Foundation and Jeff Dinwiddie will transfer 100 recognition points to your account!  We (yourself and the Club) are truly “doing good in the world”, and I thank you for your generous support to the Rotary Foundation.  Let John Schubin know if you have any questions.  The table below highlights our achievement of our Club 2015-2016 Foundation goals.

NOMINATE FOR ETHICS IN BUSINESS AWARD
Ethics In Business:  Business ethics is the behavior that a business adheres to in its daily dealings with the world. The ethics of a particular business can be diverse. They apply not only to how the business interacts with the world at large, but also to their one-on-one dealings with a single customer.

Consider nominating business people you know who have Integrity, a Sense of Responsibility, an Emphasis on Quality, Discipline, and a Sense of Teamwork.

This is a program developed by the Boise Rotary Club downtown. Janice can direct you to a nomination form. This award has been bestowed upon our own Roger Brazier in previous years!
