Our speaker this week will be Dave Fotsch, Executive Director of Boise Bike Share. You may recall that Dave spoke to us some time ago just as he was about to launch the program. Now that it's been in operation for a year or so, he'll let us know how its going. |
We've added a bunch of new members to our club this year - five so far this year, with a few more in the wings. Our Membership Committee has recently formalized the "Red Badge" program for new members. This idea is used by most Rotary clubs as a way to help a new member become acclimatized to the world of Rotary. We have a Red Badge Checklist (you can find it on the website under Club Documents). The new member, and his/her mentor, has six months to accomplish all the things on the list. This would include attending a board meeting, visiting another club or participating in a club service project. Once completed, the new member gets a "real" Rotary badge and receives a standing ovation!
Roger reports that our 3rd grade dictionaries have arrived and are ready to be delivered. He'll need volunteers to help distribute them to the third grades. Let him know if you can help. There are a total of 336 books!
