We have supported the project in Sierra Leone, spearheaded by Jon Bart of Downtown Rotary, to develop a Cassava business. They'll be having an open house fundraiser at the Ara Club on March 8th.

There are two community volunteer programs for us to consider:

 

March 12th - United Way and Red Cross are participating in a national campaign to go door to door installing smoke detectors, or replacing batteries. Organizers are lining up teams to work the neighborhoods for a few hours that afternoon.

 

April 11-15 - United Way has been collecting books. They now have thousands that need to be cleaned and sorted. We're thinking maybe an afternoon from 4-6 followed by dinner, or maybe dinner then 6-8. Still to be determined.

 

(Note: our offer to cook hot dogs for a Senior Games event has been moved, again. This time to May 28th)
