Our speaker this week will be Megan Remaley from United Way of the Treasure Valley. She'll report on the latest ALICE report - that stands for "Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed". We've heard about this project before, but this is brand new data from April 2022."The United Way term represents the growing number of hardworking individuals and families across Idaho, the Pacific Northwest and the nation who are working but unable to afford the basic household necessities, including housing, child care, health care, food and transportation. The United Way ALICE report uses new measures to provide a more accurate picture of these individuals and families whose earnings are above the federal poverty level, yet they still struggle to make ends meet."
