You can't make this stuff up! Recall that we dropped "Plan B", which was moving the monument over by the Boise Inn because it was problematic to figure out who owned it, and instead hatched "Plan C" which was to tell the stories of Government Island and the Trestle bridge and build our own monument......a plan which had far fewer problems. Through a series of coincidences and odd circumstances we're going back to "Plan B"! Just last week, as we were putting the final touches on "Plan C", we were connected with Janice Beller, the Regent of the Pioneer Chapter of the D.A.R. Turns out they are working on plans to celebrate their 110th birthday next spring and they were trying to figure out how to use one of the monuments. They claim that THEY own the monument over by the Boise Inn!! They don't like its location and are thrilled at the idea of moving it to our spot! So we now have a new partner! Imagine the party we'll have at our ribbon cutting which will also celebrate the 110th of the DAR! And, it gives us a new population to sell bricks to! So we're moving ahead. This change of plan does not affect our timeline. We've raised the funds and we hope to have our brick order in this week! Brick sales have been extended |
