HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
BOARD MEETING THURSDAY
THS WEEK - DELIVERIES
We have done a fantastic job in gathering funds and groceries for the Ramadan Grocery Project! Cornelia reports that 60 bags of groceries have been built! Now is the time to make deliveries! Thirty of those bags will be going to the Islamic Center. The rest need to be delivered to people's homes. Bags can be picked up at Cornelia's home at 3600 N. Trail Circle. These deliveries can be make anytime Tuesday afternoon.
RWPP WORK PARTY MAY 22
We have an exciting opportunity coming up! We are asking all of our Boise Metro Rotary members to attend the Rotary Wetland Peace Preserve on Saturday May 22 from 8-10am! We will be weeding and wrapping trees. It’s a beautiful time of year to envision what the Preserve will become and to be able to serve and bond with our club members as well as invest in the beauty of the Treasure Valley!

Please feel free to invite friends and family of all ages!

MY HYBRID MEETING EXPERIENCE
Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Sunrise Rotary to witness our friend John Lodal receive recognition for becoming a Rotary Foundation Major Donor. The program was Jeff Leedy and his humorist artwork. (He'll visit our club some day). Anyway, Sunrise is a pretty large club and they met, for the first time in person this year, in a banquet room at the Riverside. Everyone was thrilled to see each other in person! There were also about six people sitting in via Zoom, including our District Governor.

Breakfast was served "plated". i.e., the server brought out carts with plates all made up with scrambled eggs, potatoes and ham. Everyone got the same dish, although there was a vegetarian option. Each place setting was about 6 feet apart, which made visiting with your table mate problematic. The technology was iffy. The presenter was showing slides but they couldn't get those to show on the Zoom channel. They had a "techy" guy but he couldn't figure it out.

A fine time was had by all, but not without issues!!
JUNE 6TH BIKE ROUTE MAPPED
Plans are firming up for our Rotary Family Bike Ride on the Greenbelt on Sunday afternoon June 6th.  The ten mile route will take us to Esther Simplot Park, Bernadine Quinn Park and its new Pollinator garden, the new Rotary Wetlands Peace Preserve, and, of course, Rotary Park on the Greenbelt. More details to follow but mark your calendar!
VIRTUAL ROTARY TOUR CONTINUES!
Update! Our club has virtually travelled over 14,000 miles to attend Rotary meetings in 6 other districts! If you’ve visited another club recently, please be sure to tell Cornelia so we can get credit for it. And remember that you can also bring guests to our club for points. Have you invited anyone to Rotary recently?
ITS DISTRICT RAFFLE TIME!
Shiloh has sent you a book of tickets. The stubs have to be back to her by May 10th. This is an annual tradition of our District 5400; its the major fundraiser for the District; some of the money comes back to the clubs. It is the expectation that every Rotarian will sell ten tickets, either to friends and family members or to themselves!

It is district raffle time! Your chance to win!

We are having our annual triple grand prize raffle. Your club's President Elect (or another officer) has been mailed the tickets. Make sure your club is actively promoting the raffle. If your club isn't promoting the raffle, please email karlklokke@gmail.com.

If you are inactive Rotarian; hopefully you still have enough Rotary in your heart to support our raffle.

It is the only major fundraiser of the District. Every club and every Rotarian is obligated to participate. The purchase of least one $10  ticket (or a book 10), isn't too much to ask from every Rotarian.
