Our program this week will be Bre Young, Philanthropy Manager for the Boise Women's and Children's Alliance. Did you know that WCA was started in 1910 as the YWCA?
I wanted to invite you and any of your Rotary Club members (and guests!) to a very special evening at the Arid Club from 6 - 8 pm on November 13th. We are gathering to celebrate Paul Harris' birthday and celebrate the Magic that comes thanks to our Paul Harris Fellows and our Rotary Foundation. Our special guest that evening will be Gregg Podd, Rotary Foundation Trustee.
If you would like to attend this special dinner, please RSVP before November 8 to me or Roxanna Heisler (roxanasellsidaho@gmail.com). We will need your name, plus names of any guests, and a good email address for confirmation and billing purposes. The cost to attend will be $100 per person and will include a wonderful prime rib buffet dinner and adult beverage of your choice. (Should you desire a vegetarian option instead, please let me know when you RSVP).
We hope you will take this opportunity to join fellow Rotarians and their guests to celebrate Paul Harris and the significant difference our combined efforts make in our community thanks to our motto of "service above self".
We expect to hear soon from Ben Davidson about setting us up for a panel of judges to hear an Entrepreneur pitch his/her ideas. In the meantime, here's the link to their November newsletter:
It was a bit rainy, but we cleanup the Greenbelt and planted some daffodils. It was hard to find any dirt! If you recall, we spread tons of mulch over sand and rocks! So we'll see what happens this spring!
For the next two weeks, we'll do a food drive for Women United for their annual Holiday Helper event. They'll make up care packages for homeless teens. Please bring tuna pouches, peanut butter, or other protein rich foods. You can also contribute money - make checks payable to United Way of Treasure Valley. Thanks for your gererosity!
Cornelia reports that we contributed three boxes of food and some cash! Distribution will be to homeless high school students.
After-Hours Event Opportunities comng up. These are free to attend. 5-7 PM. Our members are welcome to attend, mingle, and spread the word about what a great Rotary club we have!
