THIS WEEK - THANKSGIVING BREAK
There will be no meeting this week so we can spend quality time with our families for Thanksgiving. Presumably, most of us will not be travelling and will devise creative ways to celebrate the annual feast safely. We plan to have our family dinner in the garage! If you come up with something different and clever, please send us a photo we can share!
ANOTHER GREENBELT PROJECT TO CONSIDER!
The Ada County Rotary Clubs are considering partnering with the City of Boise to turn a 12.5-acre parcel between Willow Lanes Athletic Complex and the Boise River into a habitat dedicated to peace.
Here is a short clip describing the project:

This committee will liaise between your clubs to create the plan for:
  1. What we want the area to include like entrance signage, audio interpretive posts, peace poles, etc.;
  2. How much we want to spend; and
  3. What will be our priorities.
The committee will likely meet for 60-minutes two to four times to create a plan. We’ll also have email correspondence in between meetings. After that, we’ll meet occasionally to hammer-out on-going details.

Please let me know who will represent your club and ask them to participate in this Steering Committee Doodle Poll to find the best time to meet. Because the deadline to apply for $1000 from the district is December 15, we would like to meet this week or next.

Planting peace,
Laurie Zuckerman

POLLINATOR GARDEN?
We have had preliminary conversations with Judy Snow of the Garden City Pollinators Club about the possibility of constructing a pollinator garden at our Greenbelt park. There's plenty of room there and water, too. We're looking for a member of our club to step up and pursue this interesting idea! Judy and her committee designed and built the garden behind the Garden city library. Go check it out!
CHRISTMAS FOR JEMFriends
At last week's Board meeting we decided to offer a Christmas offering of some sort to our JEMfriends kids. We think there are seven girls in two houses. Maybe we'll prepare or otherwise provide a sumptuous Christmas dinner. We can also look forward to their annual "shopping list" where can make their holiday just a bit merrier! Watch for details.
ODDS 'N ENDS
Nineteen people on the call last week, a record!.....our guests last week were prospective ember Echo Sarlya and Emmett Rotarian Bryan Stone......we were all set to volunteer to rake Terry's yard, only to find out that Rick already did it!..............Congrats to Shiloh on her recent wedding held at U of I. The wedding pictures are odd with everybody wearing masks!.........Jeff paid serious happy dollars; he's proud of his son for working for Second Harvest in Silicon Valley.........wow, my property tax bill went down! Did yours?
