THIS WEEK - D.G. BEN VISITS
For our July 28th meeting, we're going to to try a "Hybrid" meeting style. We'll meet in person in room 200 of the Boise Centre on the Grove. Our program that day will be Ben Nelson, our new District Governor. Lunch will be provided. We'll also have a video feed available for those who chose to stay at home.  Watch for the Zoom link!
SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MONDAY 5:00
District Governors try to complete their "club visits" during the first half of their year. With 42 clubs all over the state, that's a lot of miles and scheduling challenges. Governor Ben Nelson will meet with our whole club at the regular meeting on Tuesday, but as is custom, he wants to meet with our Board on Monday at 5:00. That will be a Zoom meeting. Here's the link:

MEET OUR NEWEST MEMBER SCOTT ROBERTSON
Our newest member, Scott Robertson, was born and raised in Newark, Ohio. He earned his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan and an M.B.A. from Ohio State. (Go Buckeyes!) After 23 years of banking in Ohio, he and his wife, Jenny, moved to Boise in 2017. They'd visited here a few times and really loved it! Jenny got a job with Blue Cross of Idaho so Scott and their red-headed son tagged along. Soon after arriving, Scott got a job as a commercial lender with Washington Trust Bank. Scott's hobbies are anything outdoors and craft beer. Pets? Of course. The Robertson's have a 7 month old Australian Sheep dog / Lab mix named Mojo. Welcome to Rotary, Scott!

GREENBELT UPDATE - SIGNS!
Our three interpretive signs were installed last week. They are spectacular!  Now, the only thing left to finish is that last batch of bricks. We're still looking for a contractor to finish that. In the meantime, the signs are under wraps until we can have a "great unveiling".

GEM FRIENDS AUCTION NEEDS YOU!
Do you have a cabin or vacation rental? The ability to host a horseback riding or white-water rafting adventure? How about access to a private sightseeing flight? Are you willing to bake Cookies for a Year, or lead a mountain biking clinic in the foothills? JEMfriends will hold their annual fundraiser on September 25th and they are seeking donated “experiences” such as these. In past years, they have raised their entire $60k operating budget in this fundraiser, supporting JEMyouth participating in their transition program, which includes a life skills program and mentoring. Through these programs, local youth leaving the foster care system can find the stability, freedom, and resources needed to succeed.

All donations to JEMfriends are tax deductible and help achieve the JEMfriends vision: JEMfriends believes that each person aging out of foster care should have the opportunity to transition in an environment that understands their adversities and supports them as they become loving adults. If you have any ideas for a donated experience, please let Cornelia know at csprung@redbuilt.com.
