THIS WEEK - AT SMOKY MOUNTAIN
For our monthly Club Assembly we have to change venue due to a conflict at the Towne Suites. Therefore, we'll meet Oct 25, 12pm at Smoky Mountain Pizza at 415 E. Parkcenter Blvd. They'll put out a nice spread for us. What’s your favorite topping?
PRESIDENT'S CORNER

We have lots of club activities in progress. Many activities and events are happening in the next few weeks. We need you involved!
Some of the topics we will cover at the Club Assembly:
·        Club Health Check
·        Club Officer and Director Nominations
·        Committee Updates
·        End Polio Ride Details
·        Special Luncheon Speaker
·        Fellowship and Fundraising Plans
·        Service Projects and Programs
See YOU There!!

LOBSTER FEST DINNER SUCCESS!
This year's Lobster Fest fundraiser was a huge success! Thanks to Sunrise Rotary and Eagle Garden City Rotary for heading up this event! Early report is that the event grossed $290,000! After expenses and the club shares, the balance will be distributed among four beneficiaries - Everyday Leadership, Girl Scouts Silver Sage, Life's Kitchen and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Metro Rotary had a table at the dinner event. (We'd have been more impressive if Scott had sat at our table!) Thanks to everyone who participated!

LUKE MAYVILLE IMPRESSES
Luke Mayville and Reclaim Idaho are on a mission......very impressive. Starting about ten years ago, they've accomplished three major initiatives: (1) Forcing the Idaho Legislature to approve Medicaid Expansion (2) encouraging the Idaho Supreme Court to declare Ballot Initiatives a right of the people of Idaho and (3) Forcing the Legislature to approve $410 million in support for public education. What's next? To hold the legislature to account; make sure they spend that $410 million on Education, not divert it to some unrelated cause. Thank you, Luke, for bringing us up to date last week!
SPECIAL SPEAKER NOV 1ST
Nov 1 – Steve Scranton, SVP Chief Investment Officer & Economist, Washington Trust Bank. Throughout the Pacific Northwest, Steve is a well-known speaker on the economic conditions and the world financial markets. Please invite a guest or membership prospect to hear our excellent speakers! We will be asking for members to let us know in advance of their guest count for Nov 1 in case we need a larger lunch venue.

FALL FOLIAGE BIKE RIDE FOR POLIO

Seems like there are lots of opportunities to contribute to Polio Plus lately. Coming up is a Greenbelt Bike ride on the 29th. Bret V. has announced that he will match Polio Plus donations up to $1,000 through the end of October!  Let's make sure he has to write that check!!
