We are seeing a lot of beaver activity along the river, and are going to be making a concerted effort to get trees wrapped with chicken wire this winter, to protect them from the beavers. This is a great time to get this done, with the vegetation died back for the winter. Beginning the first week of December, we will be hosting a series of tree wrapping work parties on most Thursday's, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., through February. We will tackle a different section of the river corridor each week. Wire, tools, and training will be provided. Specific meeting locations and other details will be sent to volunteers the day before each event. You can see and sign up for available dates through your volunteer account, or at: |

Gary Eller was born and raised in West Virginia but has lived most of his life in the American West. He has played American roots music since childhood and has played banjo for over fifty years. In 2006 Gary started the Idaho Songs Project, with the primary mission finding, documenting, interpreting and preserving songs written before the radio era (1923) about early Idaho's people, places and events. He has documented over two hundred forgotten early Idaho songs and has published over a dozen topically arranged interpretive booklets with audio CDs based on these songs.
After considering several alternatives for a new venue for our weekly meetings, the Board has approved the recommendation of our committee to move over to the Towne Place Suites, starting in January. Of the several places considered, this one seems to "check all the boxes". Its located just off Capital, across from BSU, across from Elmers. Thanks to Jeff, Charlene, and Charles for their work on this challenge!
As you know, Roger has retired and closed down his business. He has lots of office supplies, furniture and equipment that is available for donation to non-profits. He has laser printers, calculators, typewriters, furniture and paper clips. Let Roger know if you have a non-profit who could benefit!
