THIS WEEK - BACK TO STONEHOUSE WITH BETH

Our speaker this week will be Beth Markley from NAMI - National Alliance on Mental Illness. Beth and her husband, Mike, are long time Rotarians. Our District 5400 is in the process of forming a Mental Health Action Group.

What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation's leading voice on mental health. Today, we are an alliance of more than 650 local affiliates who work in your community to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need.

IKEA CONSTRUCTION DEC 26th

Interfaith Sanctuary is scheduling teams to help with assembling new furniture coming from IKEA. We'll put a team together to help out on Friday, December 26th from 11-4. POLAR BEAR PLUNGE CHALLENGE

The 38th annual Polar Bear Challenge will be January 10th at Spring Shores Marina at Lucky Peak. Jade, our RYE student, has challenged us to contribute to Make-a-Wish on her behalf. District 5400 will have a team so don't be bashful! Last year, they raised $3900! Reese has done it and Cornelia is considering it. Its a big party on the beach, whether you dunk or not, starting at 11:00AM. You can contribute to Jade's account via Venmo to Metro Rotary.

So, how did y'all like last week's venue?....Panera was good.....Nolan won the ugly sweater contest.....Mary, you shouldn't have overdone it.....Bret welcomed his 20th grandchild..(really??) He thinks that's the end............Scott and Kris donated 2 gallons of pop tops to RMH.......Dave's daughter Melissa graduated from nursing school.....Tracy's daughter is now a board certified OBGYN surgeon in Wisconsin.....Rotary Minute was Rotary Santa Clauses at a memory care place in Florida.......technology bit again, but we figured it out.....We wrapped all the JEMfriends gifts while enjoying a libation...........
