Our speaker this week will be Joanne Taylor, V.P. for Development of the Boise Philharmonic. The orchestra has a full schedule for the coming year, starting on Sept 11 with a Community Concert at Bogus Basin.

Last Tuesday was our monthly day of service, and we spent a couple hours sprucing up the Warm Springs Care Farm. Let me tell you... it's an amazing therapeutic sanctuary, enabling farm experiences for families and youth. Connection to nature is so important to our well-being, and now Boise has a farm offering equine-assisted therapy--with an adorable mini-horse!--without having to drive all the way to the other end of the Treasure Valley. Best quote of the day was by owner Linda Haley: "That whole bucket is grooming tools for goats. Animal therapy involves lots of brushing!"

 

 

The Wetland Peace Preserve "watering godmothers" have been quietly keeping things growing since your last visit. Please bring your club members to see how our little babies are doing.  Some, that appeared to die after the June heat, are actually sprouting after several deep waterings.   BUT we need to weed.  (sounds like a store name in Oregon.)  so....
