February is upon us! What’s shaking?

Planting Milkweed! On Saturday, February 4^th at 11am, Boise Metro Rotary is going to help Boise enhance monarch habitat in our adopted greenbelt section by planting milkweed seeds! Come Join Us!

Rotary Online Leadership Training - The new Leadership Fundamentals program can help Rotary and Rotaract members build the skills they'll need to take on leadership roles. This online program presents key leadership skills and is available through Rotary's Learning Center only for members. Leadership Registration Link . Deadline to register is February 6, 2023.

February First Tuesday Service Project We have a fun, hands-on service project lined up for February 7 lunch! We're assembling hygiene kits for homeless students. This requires gathering the items to be ready for the kit assembly. We still need a few more items for members to donate: Sunscreen, Ponytail Holders, Conditioner, Feminine Hygiene Products, Quart Size Ziploc Bags. MAKE HYGIENE KITS - Feb 7th

February 7th Service Project: Hygiene Kits for Homeless Students Noon at our regular meeting time.

We have approximately 3,500 homeless students in the Treasure Valley. These kids are still going to school, but do not have stable housing at night. They are often couch surfing, sleeping in cars, or sharing an apartment with multiple families. Can you imagine being in high school and not having access to a shower, toothbrush, or deodorant? Sadly, food stamps and EBT do not buy these types of products. Let's help kids feel confident and send them to school with dignity and commit to build 50 Hygiene Kits! United Way will be distributing the kids through our school teachers - the ones who know.

Interesting to see the plans for upgrades in Ann Morrison Park....Bret and Kristi made a nice contribution to the effort......Surprise! Cornelia presented her husband Bob with his own Paul Harris, in celebration of his retirement.......Dave G told us about a music education program in Iceland supported by our RI Foundation.....the Youth Exchange kids were in McCall this weekend for the winter weekend. As is tradition, they all rode in the Rotary Float in the Parade....Lou is very busy, taking full advantage of her RYE year.....
