THIS WEEK - FIELD TRIP!
This week we'll meet at Reuseum for a tour of their facility. You won't believe all the refurbished stuff they sell there! Its all in the name of recycling and keeping all that dangerous stuff out of our landfills. (I bought a keyboard there recently for 5 bucks). You should have already placed your order for a sack lunch. See you noon at 1313 W. Chinden Blvd, Garden City. See their website here.
COME BUILD GARDEN BOXES
This coming Thursday Brian McCoy will led a construction team at his shop to build four 4x8 vegetable garden boxes for the Good Samaritan Home on West State Street. Meet at 5:30 at 633 E. King St, Meridian. No experience required!

JEMFRIENDS CHRISTMAS!
Dan and Charles are enthusiastically supporting a new project for our club. We're going to provide Christmas Trees and decorations for the 11 kids in a house run by JemFriends for kids who have aged out of foster care and have nowhere to go. Our board has approved an expenditure of $600.  We'll be needing some ornaments - if you have any to donate, please bring them to the next meeting.

JEMfriends is a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in located in Boise, Idaho. Since 2009, we have been working to see that each person aging out of foster care has opportunities to flourish in a society that understands their adversity and supports them in becoming loving adults.
GARDENS AGLOW - DECEMBER 19TH
Clear your calendar for Tuesday, December 19th. We'll be volunteering at Winter Gardens Aglow at the Botanical Garden. We'll be tour guides, fire monitors, hot chocolate servers, and whatever else they want us to do. Times 5-9PM.  We need 15 volunteers. Contact Cahill Jones to sign up.
BRICKS ON ORDER!
Last week officially placed our first order of 225 bricks with Fundraiser Sports! By the skin of our teeth we submitted it just in time to earn a 10% discount! That's worth about $800! We will continue to offer bricks for sale until probably mid-March. Any orders that come in now will be part of order #2. Now that we've met our fundraising goal, the next step is to fine tune our plan and execute what the city calls a "Donation Agreement" which will outline our responsibilities. In that agreement we will commit to maintaining flower beds, the little free library, bird boxes and any other little additions we can come up with.

We will make an official presentation to the Pioneer Chapter of the DAR (which, as I found out, numbers more than 100!) on Jan 6th. They should approve their partnership with us , thus making the monument available for sure.

Look for construction to begin in the spring!
