BOARD MEETING THURSDAY 8:00 am
THIS WEEK - FIELD TRIP!
Something different this week! We'll meet at Grocery Outlet at 5544 Fairview Ave, Boise. This is NOT your Grandfather's grocery store! Come hear a about different business model. Rumor has it that wine tasting is involved? Mary will bring Panera lunches. Be sure to let her know you're coming by first thing Monday morning.
Grocery Outlet

At Grocery Outlet, we love brands. Like, really love them. That’s why we work so hard every day to bring our customers the brands they love at prices that are nothing short of pure bliss. In fact, we’ve been helping customers save big since 1946. That’s when our founder Jim Read opened his very first store, selling military surplus at deep discount prices.

The rest, as they say, is history. And today, the third generation of the Read family is leading the way, with over 400 stores across the nation and more than 1.5 million shoppers hitting the aisles each week. That makes Grocery Outlet the nation’s largest extreme value retailer. A feat we’re more than proud of.

LUNCHES SERVED!
AGNES' SHIRTS ON THE WAY!
Remember the story about the fabric John and Linda B. were given by the Open World house guest from Indonesia? That the fabric was sent to Agnes in Ghana who had been awarded an Enrapove grant to buy a new sewing machine? Well, Agnes has completed the shirts and they are on their way to Idaho! Here's a photo of Agnes and her husband with the two shirts. Look forward to a fashion show!
SHARK POND IS A  "GO"
Last week Ben Davison from Entrapov (Entrepreneurs Against Poverty) presented the program which involves a "pitch" where a committee of our members would approve, or not, an idea for a small business in Ghana or Nigeria. The entrepreneur would have received training in running a business and creating a plan, to be presented to us. The Rotary Club puts up $1,000 for a grant for the winning entrepreneur to start their business. They would stay in touch with us with progress reports. We can offer suggestions along the way. If the entrepreneur successfully repays the loan over 12-24 months, those funds are used to seed other new businesses. Our Board has approved our participation in the program and the commitment of $1,000. Stay tuned for the next steps!

It has been praised for its insightful and thought-provoking content, making it a must-see for anyone interested in making a positive impact in their community.
