BE SURE TO VOTE ON TUESDAY!
THIS WEEK - DISTRICT GOVERNOR
Everyone is encouraged to come to Rotary this week to hear an enthusiastic message from our District Governor, Rich Kirkham. Each year, District Governors try to complete their "official club visits" by the end of the year. Lots of miles on the old car! Rich, a business owner from Pocatello, is a member of the Pocatello club.  Lets give him a warm Metro welcome!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THESE FELLOWSHIP EVENTS
Your Fellowship Committee (John, Carrie and Cornelia) has met and locked in dates for the following events:

  • "Pass the Gavel" dinner - Thursday June 25, 2020, at The Ram.
  • Spring Family Picnic, with corn hole tournament and amazing prizes, on hold until we find out the date of the Fishing Derby
LETS RAKE LEAVES!
Matt Hanrahan has signed us up for Rake Up Boise on Saturday November 9th. This is a fun family event that we've done in years past. Sign up here. WE NEED AT LEAST SIX PEOPLE TO MAKE A TEAM. Sign up now!!
VISIONING REVIEW
Last week President Alli reviewed the results of our Visioning exercise last week. Thanks to Marie Baker from Nampa Rotary for being our facilitator. The results of our blue dot/red dot voting were enlightening!  For example:

  • We think our optimum club size is 45 (we're at 38 now)
  • We want to be known as "People of Action"
  • The top vote getter under "Avenues of Service" was Greenbelt and River Projects
  • We need to enhance our social media presence
  • We will to continue our support of the Rotary Foundation.
  • Lets have a "Fall Fest" as a fundraiser
  • and lots more..............
EVERYDAY LEADERSHIP UPDATE
As you know, our club joined up with Sunrise Rotary to receive a $19,000 grant from District 5400 to support the Everyday Leadership Program at several elementary  schools. Mary Reiman explains that representatives from the clubs are invited to visit the classroom at times during the year to meet the teacher and the kids and "monitor" the goals of the program.  There are several visit dates coming up; Mary will let us know what they are. Let her know if you'd like to visit Garfield Elementary.
ODDS 'N ENDS
Roger has challenged us all to meet our commitment to Polio Plus..........last week we were all asked to name our favorite baseball team - Dave G. said the 49ers......sad to see baseball season end......safe travels to Rick H. who will be going to Japan for 3 months (his wife is from there).......best wishes to Dave Wilson's dog who is not feeling well.......John and Carrie are in Costa Rica this week (not together)......
