THIS WEEK - SERVICE PROJECT
No meeting this week - instead, we have our monthly service project. On Tuesday we'll be staining some fencing at the LEAP housing project at 9819 W. Shields Ave. Be there at 12:00 sharp! Wear your painting clothes!
LOBSTER AUCTION ENDS
Good work, Rotarians! 😊 Lobsterfest 2021 is now history. The 18 items we collectively donated will net us $2308! And that does not include our share of ticket sales, or of the others things we all may have bid on and won--because I’m sure you were out there shopping, too. We’ll get a complete reconciliation in a few weeks. Until then, accept my thanks for a job well done.

FELLOWSHIP WEDNESDAY
Believe it or not, its Third Wednesday already! Time for our monthly Fellowship Gathering. We'll meet at 5:00 at Payette Brewery on River Street. Hope to see you there!!
SPECIAL LUNCHEON OCTOBER 5TH
member photoBe sure to mark your calendar for Tuesday October 5th. That's the day that our District Governor, Russell Johnson, will make his official "Club Visit". We want to give him a special Metro Welcome! Since Life's Kitchen is not available for us on the 1st Tuesday of the month, we've arranged for a special luncheon at the Arid Club, 1137 W. River St. (Be sure to check out the dress code).
GLOBAL GRANT FOR UGANDA?

We're looking into the possibility of supporting a Rotary Foundation Global Grant to provide funds to Uganda's efforts to improve water quality and sanitation. Here are some facts for your consideration:

The Uganda Water Crisis: Facts, Progress, and How to Help

 | Clean Water News Poverty Cycle

Over 21 million people in Uganda are living without basic access to safe drinking water. That’s 51 percent—a majority of the population—in the East African country.

But, it’s not just about water. The water crisis is inseparable from the sanitation and hygiene crisis; together, these form what is known as “WASH,” three factors that greatly impact health.

Uganda is making a way out of the water and sanitation crisis and building a foundation from which to thrive. The country is growing and changing, and people are rising to the challenge to create better, healthier lives. Below are the top facts you should know about the Uganda water and sanitation crisis today and how you can help put it to an end.

WISE FAMILY MUFFINS

The Muffin Sale will probably be from September 29th to October 6th.  In past years my family has raised on average $10,000.  With the help of the club, I'd like to shoot for $15,000.

I need help in 2 ways:

1.) Rotarians to sell muffins to their circle of influence

2.) Rotarians to help bake muffins

Please email me if you can help with item 1, 2 or both.  Then I can provide you with more information.
