D.G. VISITS ARID CLUB
We had a great turnout at the Arid Club last week to greet Russell Johnson, our District Governor. He presented our President with some banners that we had earned, mostly to acknowledge our support of the Rotary Foundation. He invited us to join his monthly Zoom call to learn about everything happening at RI and the Zone. (The next one is October 13 at 4:00). He's excited that our next District Conference will be back at Sun Valley next May and that our guest speaker will be Brian Shul. Lots of service opportunities that weekend too!

LETS BUILD A LOAFING SHED
We can be very creative! We didn't use all of last years' District Grant for Everyday Leadership so, with a little help from Marianne Barker we were able to redirect those funds to a different project. But we had to move fast! It so happened that Tyson's son was working on a project for his Eagle Scout to build a "loafing shed" out at Idaho Youth Ranch. So, we stole his project! The Ranch uses horses for its equine therapy programs. More details will be forthcoming.
MEET RICHARD FULKERSON
Meet Richard Fulkerson, our newest member. Before I get to his background, let me just say that among his pets, there is a 30 year old box turtle named "Fluffy"! Is that cool, or what??

Richard was born in Salt Lake City but spent most of his formative years in Payette, Idaho. He graduated from BSU with degrees in History and Secondary Education. He worked 25 years for the American Red Cross, going from CPR Instructor to Administration of regional Chapters, which took him to Des Moines, Worcester, Chicago and other places.

His second career took him to the Shriners Childrens Hospital system where he now works remotely as their Finance Director.

Richard and his wife, Elena, have three grown children. His hobbies are reading and fishing. In addition to Fluffy the turtle, they have a cat named Wilmot. And, oh yes, Richard is Janice's brother!
