One Stone is a student-led and -directed nonprofit that makes students better leaders and the world a better place. Our program empowers high school students to learn and practice 21st century skills through experiential service, innovative initiatives, social entrepreneurship, and the radical reinvention of learning.
One Stone does not charge membership dues or fees, ensuring that our programs are accessible to any high school student who wants to be a better leader and make the world a better place.
The annual District Conference will take place May 17-20 in beautiful Sun Valley! This is our once a year opportunity to rub shoulders with hundreds of Rotarians from all over the District. We'll have great speakers, awesome entertainment and great meals! We'll meet all the District Youth Exchange Kids and have opportunities for training in areas such as ClubRunner, Membership and more! We'll have auctions, line dancing and the impressive Club Showcase. Sign up now by clicking here. You can also reserve your room at the Sun Valley Lodge. (There are less expensive alternatives in Ketchum, but nowhere near as cool!)
The next beneficiary of our generosity will be the Agency for New Americans. Michela suggests that we make up some "hygiene kits". So, when your on vacation, steal the little things for your hotel bathroom! We will collect stuff for this group through June 30th.
We'll take the Borah kids their $500 check next week........the Rotary License Plate Bill has passed the Senate...Governor's desk is next...maybe he's a Kiwanian?............Dave forgot his pin, first time in 23 years........appears the Stonehouse has solved their sound problem.......last week's gathering at Lost Grove Brewery was great fun...but parking was a problem......watch for a similar event in May.. ......strong backs save the date....we need to fill those garden boxes we built for the Good Samaritan Home ....lots of stone and soil to be shoveled...maybe April 23? Brian will let us know...... .....congrats to our own Shiloh Holmes, who was honored as one of the Women of the Year by Idaho Business Review......
