THIS WEEK - CLUB ASSEMBLY
Be there, or be square!!
SPECIAL LUNCHEON OCTOBER 5TH
member photoBe sure to mark your calendar for Tuesday October 5th. That's the day that our District Governor, Russell Johnson, will make his official "Club Visit". We want to give him a special Metro Welcome! Since Life's Kitchen is not available for us on the 1st Tuesday of the month, we've arranged for a special luncheon at the Arid Club, 1137 W. River St. (Be sure to check out the dress code). RSVP needed - watch for an email from Cornelia. This is one of the top events of a Rotary year!

Rotarians,

An Evite was sent out last week for the upcoming District Governor's visit at The Arid Club on October 5th. Please be sure to check your email and Junk email for the invite. We don't want to miss you for this event, and an RSVP is necessary since we are at a new location.

I look forward to seeing you there!

BE A SHELTERBOX AMBASSADOR
Shelter Box Ambassador for Boise Metro Rotary! Is this YOU??

A few weeks ago, Michael Howe, Fellow Rotarian and Rotary Club President of Casper, WY, presented Shelter Box to our club. He is a ShelterBox Ambassador, and is seeking a Club Ambassador for Shelter Box from Boise Metro Rotary!
If this is of interest, please reach out to Michael Howe: mike_howe@q.com

PEACE POLE COMING TOGETHER
A committee of Shiloh, Jeff and Charlene are putting the final touches on our club's Peace Pole for the Wetland Peace Preserve. We have to select an example of flora and fauna and create brief descriptions, along with a "peace" word in multiple languages.
GREENBELT CLEANUP SATURDAY
Its that time again! First Saturday of each month is our time to clean up our section of Greenbelt, inspect our park and resupply the little free library. Meet at 11:00 at Joe's Crab Shack. (Note the change of time). Maybe we'll have lunch at the Sand Bar if they're open!
UPCOMING SERVICE PROJECTS
Our October service project will be working on donated bikes at the Boise Bicycle Project.

Our November service project is going to be a partnership with JEMfriends youth to create 300 ornaments for a tree at the United Way Holiday Helper event. I need a little help with brainstorming, planning and logistics. Please reply to me if you want in on the organizing fun. So far, it looks like this: November 2 we'll continue working with JEMfriends, at Redbuilt. Nov 8 or 9 we'll set up the Holiday tree at Expo.

(Late flash -We'll start our United Way Holiday Helper project with JEMfriends on September 30th "Craft Night". Stay tuned.)
WISE FAMILY MUFFINS

The Muffin Sale will probably be from September 29th to October 6th.  In past years my family has raised on average $10,000.  With the help of the club, I'd like to shoot for $15,000.

I need help in 2 ways:

1.) Rotarians to sell muffins to their circle of influence

2.) Rotarians to help bake muffins

Please email me if you can help with item 1, 2 or both.  Then I can provide you with more information.

ODDS 'N ENDS
Our song last week was an updated version of "I've Been Workin on the Railroad".....this time, John and Cahill used the proper key..it was much better this time!.......many thanks to Mark Homco last week  representing the Agency for New Americans. The challenges that agency faces to assimilate refugees is overwhelming. They could use some volunteers.
