THIS WEEK - MINIDOKA NHS
Our program this week will be about the Minidoka National Historic Site. Mia Russell, Executive Director of Friends of Minidoka, will tell about the amazing story of this Japanese Interment Camp and their plans to continue development of the historic site in southern Idaho.http://www.minidoka.org/
ALSO THIS WEEK - ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Also on the agenda this week will the election of club officers for the Rotary year beginning July 1st.
FISHING DERBY UPDATE - EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW
Hey Partner…the Fish Derby is on! Join us for the 2nd annual Boise Metro Fish Derby, where we'll award prizes for Biggest Fish and Most Fish Caught. Current cash purses are $300, $200 and $100 in both adult and youth categories and will continue to go up as more anglers register! Fun for the whole family.  Come wet a line with your fellow Rotarians and the Community as we raise money for our Boise Metro youth programs, including Everyday Leadership, RYLA, and Rotary Youth Exchange.
 
Event Details: April 18th from 7am to noon at the Parkcenter Pond in Boise.

VOLUNTEER:

PAST R.I. PRES RISELEY SPEAKS TO US
 
On Thursday, February 20, 2020, Ian Riseley, Rotary International President for 2017 - 18, will present LIVE from Australia to Rotary District 5400 via Zoom! The Rotary clubs of Boise, Buhl, Eagle-Garden City, Emmett, Hailey, and Rexburg will air the presentation. If you wish to attend and do not belong to these clubs, please register before Wednesday, February 12 at Rotary 5400, Earth Stewardship, Events.
 
In 2017 - 18, President Riseley presided over 1.2 million Rotarians in more than 33,000 clubs in 200 plus countries. His key request is that we plant one tree per Rotarian. Theme speech
 
He has served on the boards of many private and public schools and other charitable organizations. He has received many honors including the AusAID Peacebuilder Award from the Australian government and the Regional Service Award for a Polio -Free World from The Rotary Foundation.

NAMPA ROTARY WINE & BE KIND
Nampa Rotary Club will hold its annual fund raiser called "Wine, Dine and Be Kind" on February 27 at the Warbird Air Museum. The event benefits Nampa  youth and education non-profits. The Gala begins with a Silent Auction and cocktails at 5:30 PM, moving into the Live Auction and ending the evening with an elegant dinner, catered by Brick 29.  Tickets are $50.
