HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
THIS WEEK - JEFF LEEDY'S FUNNY ART
You may be familiar with Jeff's work. A Boise Rotarian, Jeff creates unique artwork "that will make you laugh". In his presentation he'll tell how he came to this particular niche and the motivation behind each piece.
GREENBELT SATURDAY
Its the first Saturday again! Time to clean up the Greenbelt. Meet at Joe's at 11:00, followed by lunch at the Sand Bar!
ROTARY FOUNDATION - WE'RE #2
Roger reports that our club currently sits at #2 in District 5400 for per capita giving to the foundation ($306). LETS BE #1!! We have until June 30th, the end of the Rotary year, to surpass Sunrise Rotary for the top spot. If you haven't made your contribution to the Rotary Foundation yet, let's get 'er done!
OPPORTUNITY TO HELP UNITED WAY
Last week we had a fascinating presentation from Christa Rowland about United Way of Treasure Valley Community School Strategy. Well, here's something we can do to support UWTV:

Thursday, June 17th from 4-6:30pm, the United Way of Treasure Valley will be collecting items for their Homeless Student Basic Needs Pantry. This pantry serves roughly 60 schools throughout the valley. It's our hope to supply school workers who are working through the summer with basic needs items for students who may be experiencing food insecurity and barriers to hygiene while school is not in session. And with a little luck, the pantry will remain nice and stocked for the start of school in August/September.

SIGN UP FOR JUNE 6TH BIKE RIDE
Its not too late to sign up!  Plans for our family bike ride on Sunday, June 6th are firmed up. We'll meet at 1:45 at the new Rotary Wetlands Peace Preserve by the river at the Willow Lane Softball Complex. Before we start our ride we'll take a walk on the RWPP trail. Its about .6 mile and will take about 20 minutes. Then we'll take off and head east, going around Veteran's Pond, then on the Esther Simplot and White Water Park. We'll stop to check out the new Pollinator Garden at the new park on Quinn's Pond, then cross over at Americana, visit Rotary Park on the Greenbelt, then go all the way down to Plantation Bridge where we'll cross the river and return to RWPP for refreshments. Total distance is about 9.5 miles and will take us about 1.5 hours. Kids and friends are welcome! PLEASE SIGN UP HERE If you just want the snacks, show up at 4:00!
LOBSTER FEST IS BACK!
Remember how much fun we had with Lobster Fest last year? And remember how much money we raised for our projects? Well, Lobster Fest is back for 2021!! Mark your calendar for September 3-12. Our club has committed to participate by providing auction items like we did last year. Be thinking of unique things to offer! Cornelia will head up the effort, once again. (Last year we netted about $4300)
VIRTUAL ROTARY TOUR CONTINUES!
Update! Our club has virtually travelled over 14,000 miles to attend Rotary meetings in 6 other districts! If you’ve visited another club recently, please be sure to tell Cornelia so we can get credit for it. And remember that you can also bring guests to our club for points. Have you invited anyone to Rotary recently?
