This week we'll learn abour Book it Forward. What happens to those books we donate? Tracy will have the details and a short project for us.

 

Book it Forward! Idaho, a joint initiative of Idaho Voices for Children, in cooperation with United Way of Treasure Valley, is dedicated to increasing access to books for children. We collect new and gently-used books and get them to kids who have little to no access to books at home.

Boise East Rotary is having a Chili Cook-off on October 11 in honor of World Polio Day. Who has the winning recipe? The club will pay the entry fee and ingredients.

Did you know our club was chartered on August 14, 1985?? During this Rotary year we'll plan a bunch of events to celebrate our 40th anniversary. A committee has been formed and they're busy kicking around ideas using the theme "40" in everything we do. An idea for this fall is a event to make 40 pollinator boxes. Our annual Changing of the Gaurd event next spring will be a special look back at our club's history. Maybe new club polo shirts, logos, etc.

Thanks to everyone who helped stuff goodie bags for ACE last week....charity golf tournament for Architects/Construction and Engineering.....come to Barker's on Thursday to meet our RYE students......our speaker next week willbe Project Amigo; Cornelia did a stint there this summer.....Jade will present on October 7th......many thanks to Jody Peterson-Stigers the update on Interfaith Sanctuary. The services they will be able to provide in the new facility are impressive!.....All their furniture is coming from IKEA!..hope to be open in December. Watch for tours.........
