THIS WEEK - RYLA
Our guests this week will be Kali Bach and Hayes Deaver. They attended this summer's RYLA camp and will tell us all about it. Find out how this long running Rotary program makes an impact on our young people.
SHARK POND IS A  "GO"
Last week Ben Davison from Entrapov (Entrepreneurs Against Poverty) presented the program which involves a "pitch" where a committee of our members would approve, or not, an idea for a small business in Ghana or Nigeria. The entrepreneur would have received training in running a business and creating a plan, to be presented to us. The Rotary Club puts up $1,000 for a grant for the winning entrepreneur to start their business. They would stay in touch with us with progress reports. We can offer suggestions along the way. If the entrepreneur successfully repays the loan over 12-24 months, those funds are used to seed other new businesses. Our Board has approved our participation in the program and the commitment of $1,000. Stay tuned for the next steps!

Featuring insights from Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam, author of Bowling Alone, the film delves into the decline of social capital and the need for renewed civic involvement. It has been praised for its insightful and thought-provoking content, making it a must-see for anyone interested in making a positive impact in their community.
