HAPPY EASTER!
THIS WEEK - TRIP TO CUBA
Our program this week will be Sarah Cortez from the Boise Chamber of Commerce. She's talk about the recent Chambered-sponsored trip to Cuba.
BORAH ON TUESDAY
We'll be meeting Jeremy Thompson and several of his Borah High students that helped with our Rose Sale this year Tuesday, April 3rd at 2:30pm. The best place to park is in the back of the building near the green houses. I'll work to check everyone in with the office a little early.

I hope you can make it by to say thank you to the kids who helped us set a record in sales and profit this past year.
ONE STONE - WHO KNEW?
We enjoyed a great turnout for our field trip to One Stone last week. My response was "Who Knew?" What a progressive way to engage high school students in the "real world".  Made me want to go back to school! Maybe we can start an Interact club there!  Click here to read testimonials from former students. For example:

"One Stone made me truly realize how powerful the voice and actions of young adults and teenagers can be. One Stone takes all of the potential that high school students have, and teaches the students to craft it in a way that makes a difference while also empowering themselves. Being in One Stone was an extremely rewarding time in my life.”

WE PLANTED TREES AT EAGLE ISLAND!
We managed to plant 88 trees along the new entrance to the park before we ran out of supplies.

We're making plans to reach our District 5400 goal of planting 1800-2000 trees.  Right now, we know of 1533 trees or seedlings that our district has planted to meet our goal of 1800 to 2000. We need at least 267 more. I'm going to work with Laurie Z. from Rotary Downtown to reach out to clubs who have not yet contributed the $4-$5 per member to participate.

Next planting date is April 14th at Hyatt Hidden Lakes. Contact Scott to volunteer!
ZONE HERE IN SEPTEMBER

This year’s  Zone institute will be held in Boise from September 4-9.  The schedule has been released  and can be found here.  http://www.rizones21-27.org/2018-zone-institute-boise/

You will be learning a lot more about Rotary Zones. Since its happening in our District ( a rare occurrence) we will be asked to volunteer in lots of ways to make it a success. Stay tuned............

TIME TO REGISTER FOR DISTRICT CONFERENCE
The annual District Conference will take place May 17-20 in beautiful Sun Valley! This is our once a year opportunity to rub shoulders with hundreds of Rotarians from all over the District. We'll have great speakers, awesome entertainment and great meals! We'll meet all the District Youth Exchange Kids and have opportunities for training in areas such as ClubRunner, Membership and more! We'll have auctions, line dancing and the impressive Club Showcase. Sign up now by clicking here. You can also reserve your room at the Sun Valley Lodge. (There are less expensive alternatives in Ketchum, but nowhere near as cool!)
