Our guest this week will be Jazzy Jenkins, Development Director of Camp Rainbow Gold.
Hidden Paradise is Idaho’s medical camp, designed to be a refuge for people living with medical, emotional, physical, or behavioral challenges. Here, visitors experience the healing power of nature while enjoying a safe, adaptive space designed to meet their physical and medical needs.
Idaho’s medical camp began as a dream for Camp Rainbow Gold, which has served children living with cancer and their families for more than 40 years. For decades, the organization put enormous effort into setting up Camp Rainbow Gold a different camp sites in the summer, only to pack it all up again until the next year.
Born in the city of Ibadan, Nigeria, Olayinka H. Babalola received his engineering degree in 1988. He worked for 25 years in the oil and gas industry, holding senior positions at Shell PLC. He is the founder of two companies: an oil and gas infrastructure delivery company and an executive coaching and organizational performance advisory group.
Yinka started his Rotary career by starting a Rotaract Club in Bauchi. He's a long time member of the Roatary Club of Trans Amadi. His goal for us is to "Create Lasting Impact".
See this month's Rotarian Magazine for full details.
Last week Roger reminded us that Boise's official "birth date" was July 4, 1863. Our old friend Pinkney Lugenbeel had just arrived to build a fort. See attached for a brief history lesson.
If you are taking on a new role in our club, remember to take advantage of the excellent training available in the Rotary Learning Center. You can use a web browser (or the new phone app!) to access learning plans for all club officer positions, as well as those serving on Membership, Public Image, Service and Foundation committees. It will clarify expectations and provide a solid foundation for your work.
