We have supported various efforts of JEMfriends over the years. This is an organization that supports young people who have "aged out" of the foster care system. At last week's board meeting, we approved a $5,000 grant to provide paint, carpet and labor to refresh one their rental houses. Plan on joining the work team the week of November 13. More details to follow. Note: I met Liberty at the house this week to check it out. Its a pretty simple project. Looks like one day for two experienced painters. One bedroom and a hallway. Date to be determined. Is there an experienced painter that wants to join in ? |
We'll use our time this week to figure out logistics for getting the third graders' dictionaries delivered. We also have to put our Rotary stickers in all the books. Many hands.........
Monthly Greenbelt cleanup will be Saturday at 11:00. We should be able to meet at Ling & Louie's new parking lot. Are they open yet?
