Our meeting this week will be at Broadway on the Rocks, a meeting venue at Albertson's on Broadway. We want to "test" it to see if it might be appropriate for our regular meetings. The suggestion is to come a bit early and get a lunch from the deli and bring it upstairs. Cornelia will be there to pick up the tab (this week!)

Our speaker this week will be Nancee Bakken, Executive Director of Boise's Ronald McDonald House.

 

At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho, we are helping families face the burden of their child’s illness together. They have enough worries attending to the complicated medical needs of their child, maintaining their jobs, caring for other children or family members and keeping up with medical and out-of-pocket expenses – at RMHC of Idaho, we care for the family so they can focus on their ill or injured child.

Foundation Chair Roger reports that our club has EXCEEDED its goal for the Rotary year!! We have achieved EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year). Our contributions to the Annual Fund are 117% of goal, for $11,656. We're way over on Polio Plus as well. On a per capita basis, we're #3 in the District. Sunrise is #1, again! Good job everyone!

Boise Sunrise Rotary is again sponsoring a Night at Zoo Boise on June 16th. Rotarian Steve Merrill stopped by to tell us about this fundraiser to build a school in Mozambique, serving families in Gorongosa National Park. The Zoo will be open; food available at the concession and a no host bar. Kids welcome. Come see the new Red Panda Exhibit. Gates open at 5:30. Special speakers, raffles, and more! 

Mary R. is heading up a hiking adventure for Saturday June 21st. Join in for a 3 mile loop starting at the end of Mountain Cove Road in Military Reserve. Meet at 8:00AM Kids and Dogs welcome!

Scott has been delving into Facebook.....if you see a post from our club account, be sure to "like" and "tag".........Ann is adjusting to her husband's retirement..."he's around all the time!.......Cornelia spent a week volunteering at Girl's Build Camp and really enjoyed it........Rotary Minute was about vocational training in animal husbandry in Sri Lanka.....Brad Stith from Boise Pro Soccer was very informative......I had no idea what a big deal this is going to be!......you should have received an e-vite to the Pass the Gavel........See you at Albertsons......
