THIS WEEK - ALZHEIMERS ASSOCATION

Our speaker this week will be Curt Kelly from the Boise Chapter of the Alzheimers Association.

Curt has been volunteering for the Alzheimer’s Association for about a year and a half and is doing so because of family history of Alzheimer’s disease.

The Alzheimer’s Association was founded by Jerome Stone in 1980 and advances research to end Alzheimer’s and dementia while enhancing care for those living with the disease.  It is a national organization with chapters nationwide.

GRANT APPROVED FOR GARFIELD ELEMENTARY
Our District 5400 grant to provide materials for Garfield Elementary School for the Everyday Leadership program has been approved for $2,600.  The program is our "cause" for this quarter. Please gather up school supplies and deliver them to Michela.
ROTARY PLATES ARE NOW AVAILABLE!
Rotary license plates are now available. Go to any Motor Vehicle office and order one when you update your registration (or any time). There's an extra fee but part of that comes back to our District.
MARTIN THE FRENCHMAN ARRIVES 8/17
Rick reports that Martin, our foreign exchange student from France, will arrive at the airport on August 17th at 7:42PM. Lets plan on giving him a big Rotary welcome when he steps off the plane. Since France just won the World Cup, wear your WC uniform, or at least your Rotary shirt! Our first Host Family is ready but we still need to finalize the families for the 2nd and 3rd sessions.
HELP WATER AT HIDDEN LAKES
We have an ongoing commitment to water our seedlings at Hyatt Hidden Lakes. We're scheduled to help August 10th and September 15th. Lets make sure what we planted gets off to a good start!
ODDS 'N ENDS
Our song last week was "Will the Saints Come Marchin' In".....Cahill wasn't here, so he wants to do it again.......nice to see Barb Myre last week...she's a full time RVer and stops by home once in a while.....how's this for cool: Brian is organizing a road trip to Gowan Field on October 23rd...he knows people..........
