THIS WEEK - ROTARY PLAZA AT JULIA DAVIS
Diane Davis Myklegard, great granddaughter of Tom and Julia Davis, leads the Second Century Coalition that has been raising funds since 2007 for these park improvements. Rotary Clubs in the greater Boise metro area joined in and raised $150,000 towards the construction of the plaza. Diane will bring us up to date on the project.

CATCH BRUNCH APRIL 3RD
My Leadership Boise family is hosting a Brunch & Learn event on April 3 at 8:00 a.m. to explore the topic of Homelessness in Boise. We are working with CATCH which has an audacious goal of eliminating family homelessness in the Treasure Valley within 5 years. Yes, you read that right. If you'd like to be part of the solution, I'd love to have you at the event. Please reply to me and I'll make sure you're on the guest list. This event is by invitation only, so you'll need to reply to me at csprung@redbuilt.com.
GUESS WHO'S COMING FOR DINNER! - Date Change!
THE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO MAY 4TH

Here's how it works: in early April you will be given the opportunity to be a dinner guest, or host, on May 11th. 4th. We'll form dinner groups of not more than  3 or 4 couples, to be assigned arbitrarily and secretively. If you volunteer to host, you will be responsible for the entire meal.  If you just want to be guest, all you have to do is show up at the designated address. Hosts won't know who is coming and guests won't know where they're going! This will be a blast!!
GO FISHIN'
Last week Dave Wilson presented a fund raising project - Fishing Derby/Tournament. Lots of details to work out but it has real potential! Contact Dave if you would like to service on his committee.

QUARTERLY CAUSE - Phone4Charity
Locate your old phones & devices - we can donate them to Phones4Charity who will return cash to us which we can donate to a cause of our choice.  Be sure to "clean" them first, to protect your information. If you din't know how, James will do it for you.

"There are over 800 million retired cell phones discarded in drawers, desks, and storages in the United States with over 140 million more entering the waste stream each year. Phones 4 Charity is a national program designed to remove used cell phones from the country's environment while directly benefiting charitable organizations."
DISTRICT CONFERENCE MAY 17-19
Its not too soon to be making plans for attending this years' District Conference May 17-19. This will be the first year EVER that's it to be held in Boise, instead of Sun Valley. That makes it lot more affordable and provides many more activity options. For the complete schedule and registration information, go to https://rotary5400.org/page/celebrate. There's a substantial discount if you register by March 31.  The District planners are also looking for people to provide "home stays" for our Rotary friends from across the state.
PLANT A TREE!
Tree Planting days are coming soon! We need to help District 5400 reach its goal of planting one tree for each Rotarian. We made great progress last year! To see which clubs participated check out the map! This years' dates are:
  • March 30 - Hulls Gulch
