THIS WEEK - LIBRARY OF THINGS
Our program this week will be Paul Johnson, Director of a new non-profit called Idaho Share and Supply. The idea is to build an inventory of  "everything" that members can borrow, whether it be tools, construction equipment, outdoor and athletic stuff, whatever you need.
PASS THE GAVEL IS ON!
After considering lots of options, its been decided that the Pass the Gavel event will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd. It will be an outdoor affair at the pavilion in Esther Simplot Park, from 6 - 8PM. It will feature speeches, music, adult beverages and light food options. More details to follow. Spouses and friends are invited. There will be no cost to the event. Clear your calendar!
MONUMENT MOVE??
At the risk of jinxing it, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the contractor follows through on the schedule and moves our monument on Wed/Thursday this week! I am dying of curiosity on how they'll do that! Assuming all goes well, the second batch of bricks and the interpretive signs should go down shortly thereafter. Keep your fingers crossed!!
SUMMER SERVICE PROJECT PLANNED
You should recall that back on April 21 we had a presentation from social studies teacher Jess Hawley where he explained his program called "Helping High" at Frank Church High School. Its an inspiring effort to help at-risk kids move along in their education and is a great example of the value of community partnerships. He talked about his "pantry" where, if his kids met his challenges, he could provide food, clothing, even bicycles. For our summer project we are planning a "drive" to supply items to stock his pantry. Logistics and marketing details are still to be worked out. Stay tuned.
ODDS 'N ENDS
