BOARD MEETING TUESDAY 7:15
THIS WEEK - MAYOR BIETER
Our guest this week will be Boise's Mayor Dave Bieter. A Boise native, Bieter is serving his fourth term as our mayor, making him the longest serving mayor in the city's history.
GREENBELT UPDATE - THE SIGNS
We met with the folks at Touchmark last week as they unveiled the first draft of our interpretive signs.  The text is pretty well finalized. We have to decide on the style for the bases and colors. Do we want black or do we want  the same orange to match the bricks and the trestle bridge? We kicked around ideas and look forward to another iteration in a couple of weeks. We hope to have these completed by the end of November.
GREENBELT FELLOWSHIP OCT 12TH
Haven't seen the Greenbelt project yet? How about the new "wave" in Esther Simplot Whitewater Park? To show off our park and the new stuff along the river around Whitewater Park, we're having a fellowship event on Saturday October 12th. Members of our three Rotary clubs are invited to join John Biggs as he leads an informative 6 mile bike ride. The ride will start from Veteran's Park at State/Veterans and head east through Whitewater Park, along the new path around Veteran's Pond, past the waves and on down to BSU. We'll cross the river, take the new path from Ann Morrison and end up at the new Rotary Park on the Greenbelt. There, we'll enjoy cider, donuts and left-over free T-shirts. The ride will begin at 1:00. Walkers can come from either Joe's Crab Shack or the Firemen's Memorial and should plan to be at the park by 2:00. As an added feature, everyone is asked to bring a bag of spring bulbs for planting!  Imagine the park next spring blazing with flowers!  Note: this is NOT our formal "dedication" - that will come when the monument has been installed, the next batch of bricks is put down and the interpretive signs are finished. All Rotarians and family members are invited!
