BOARD MEETING THURSDAY
THIS WEEK - ZOOM - SHELTERBOX

We will meet Mike Howe over Zoom this week. Mike serves as an Ambassador for ShelterBox USA and is a member of the Ambassador Council as a representative for Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.  Mike originally became aware of the great work ShelterBox does through his last Rotary Club in Sequim, Washington.

Currently living in Casper, Wyoming, Mike is the President of the Rotary Club of Casper – the largest Club in District.

ShelterBox is a cutting-edge charity that hand-delivers emergency shelter for families devastated by natural disaster and conflict. Shelterbox is a partner with Rotary International.

Our signature ShelterBoxes and ShelterKits contain the tools to transform lives and rebuild communities.Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87044076793?pwd=UExacVlTMVJRVTdXeFEwcXdSb1VLdz09

GLOBAL GRANT FOR UGANDA?

We're looking into the possibility of supporting a Rotary Foundation Global Grant to provide funds to Uganda's efforts to improve water quality and sanitation. Here are some facts for your consideration:

The Uganda Water Crisis: Facts, Progress, and How to Help

 | Clean Water News Poverty Cycle

Over 21 million people in Uganda are living without basic access to safe drinking water. That’s 51 percent—a majority of the population—in the East African country.

But, it’s not just about water. The water crisis is inseparable from the sanitation and hygiene crisis; together, these form what is known as “WASH,” three factors that greatly impact health.

Uganda is making a way out of the water and sanitation crisis and building a foundation from which to thrive. The country is growing and changing, and people are rising to the challenge to create better, healthier lives. Below are the top facts you should know about the Uganda water and sanitation crisis today and how you can help put it to an end.

VENUE UPDATE - DATE CHANGES
We are still waiting for the Stonehouse to decide what it wants to do going forward. It seems, however, that even when they re-open, it will be more expensive. In the meantime, we're locked into the Life's Kitchen through the end of October. The only complication there is that the room is not available on the first Tuesday of each month. That's why we've scheduled our Tuesday Service Projects for the 1st.  (A favorite song of mine is "Life Gets Complicated, Don't it?) For September, our project wasn't to be ready until the 14th. So here's the early September calendar:

September 7 - Zoom meeting with a representative from ShelterBox

September 14 - Service Project, painting for Leap Housing

WISE FAMILY MUFFINS

The Muffin Sale will probably be from September 29th to October 6th.  In past years my family has raised on average $10,000.  With the help of the club, I'd like to shoot for $15,000.

I need help in 2 ways:

1.) Rotarians to sell muffins to their circle of influence

2.) Rotarians to help bake muffins

Please email me if you can help with item 1, 2 or both.  Then I can provide you with more information.
