"Boise is an amazing place, and one that many of us call home. It is also home for a growing community of refugees, over 20,000 in the last three decades.
Our new neighbors have come from all over the world, bringing with them diverse cultures, language and religions, but all share a common journey of persecution, escape and survival.
They have found themselves in an entirely new place, cannot go home, or are afraid to because of persecution. Often, this is due to their race, religion, nationality or particular social group.
We exist to welcome them into a new chapter of life, one that doesn’t erase their past, but helps them embrace the challenge of leaving home, and thriving in a safe community that many of us may take for granted."
District 5400 is accepting applications for Rotary Foundation District Grants for next year! We have $60,245 to distribute to clubs in the 2026-27 cycle. The deadline for application is June 1, 2026. A few things to remember:
The instructions will walk you through the process and they provide more information regarding grant parameters and limitations! Please take the time to read them.
The Rotary Foundation amount available to us for 2026-27 district grants is determined by contributions made by our Rotarians to Annual Fund-SHARE in 2023-24, and it is about $7,000 more than we had to distribute last year.
Yours in Rotary,
Ines Crespo

We had a wonderful time at the Eagle/Garden City puts and pins fundraiser. Based on the tournament rules, Nolan bowled a perfect game. With 9 of his 12 strikes being fully earned, it was fun to watch. I’m sure we’ll have an update on how much they raised and all the beneficiaries soon.
Last week's meeting at the new Wassmuth Center was very informative! Once again, our Rotary club has exposed us to programs we had no idea existed......the "conversation" with the hologram Holocaust survivor was amazing!.....poor Schubin came home from B.C. on crutches......by-laws update committee to meet this week after the meeting.......Greenbelt is clean!.....Well, that game finally got interesting in the 4th quarter, Go Seahawks!
