As you know, JEMfriends is looking forward to thier annual Gala Celebtration on September 26th. This week, we'll be joined by several of their "graduates" who will practice their speeches on us. They have some amazing stories to tell!
We had a nice crew to cleanup the Greenbelt on Saturday and we came across some interesting chalk graffiti, including on our Rotary Park bricks. It seems to be very Mystical? Can somebody translate these for us? Seems harmless enough.
Did you know our club was chartered on August 14, 1985?? During this Rotary year we'll plan a bunch of events to celebrate our 40th anniversary. A committee has been formed and they're busy kicking around ideas using the theme "40" in everything we do. An idea for this fall is a event to make 40 pollinator boxes. Our annual Changing of the Gaurd event next spring will be a special look back at our club's history. Maybe new club polo shirts, logos, etc.
What was that lunch last week?............One more seat available at the JEMfriends Gala table $125......Did you know that the Meridian Public Library has a lazer engraving machine you can use? We'll use it to put Rotary logo on the Bee Boxes.......September is Rotary's Education and Literacy Month. ....We'll be doing the Dictionary project again this year. Roger will have details as available.....Tracy will be working on a children's book project...stay tuned........thanks to Angela Sanchez from Big Brothers Big Sisters for updating us on the BBBS program......
